INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE TORN PAPER OVERLAYS - pg2of4
[Would you like to see the step-by-step instructions with screen
clips for PSP and other programs? See the
Tutorial Section]
1) Insert paper tear overlay into your layout (make sure it is on a layer above the paper layer).
**make sure you are on the tear overlay
layer**
Now move the tear overlay where you want it (make sure it is still
extending the full length of the paper before proceeding).
2) Use the SELECTION tool = MAGIC WAND and click off the tear, on the
NON-shadowed side of the tear. A mask should appear outlining the paper
you want to keep. **This will really only work right if the torn edge is
exactly the size of the paper (i.e. 12" tear means 12" from one side of
the paper to the other side).** NOTE:
The amount I have told you to expand in the text file with each tear is
when you have a full 12" paper and have NOT "resized" the tear. I
actually often resize the tears because I work in 8" layouts instead of
12". If I "crop" instead of resize, though, the expanded amount
should be the same as in the instructions. If you "resize" it, try
different expanded amounts (first start with half the number recommended)
and make sure the selected area does not pass to the shadow side.
Hope this helps. See the screen shots in the "tutorials"
if you want to see more. Thanks!

Feather=o, Anti-Alias, Outside)
